Our Story

Windmills Soccer Club is a proud and historic club, founded in 1950 by Dutch immigrants in Perth, Australia. The club was formed with the aim of providing a place for the local Dutch community to play soccer and socialize on Sundays. The club was accepted into the Western Australian Soccer Football Association's Third Division in 1951 and quickly rose through the ranks, earning promotion to the top flight in 1958.

In 1960, Windmills was one of eight clubs that broke away from the WASFA to form the Soccer Federation of Western Australia, becoming a semi-professional club for the first time. The club changed its name to Morley-Windmills after a merger with the Morley Soccer Club in 1973 and moved to its current home at Wotton Reserve in Embelton.

Over the years, Morley Windmills has been a dominant force in Western Australian soccer, with numerous league titles and State Championships won. The club has a rich Dutch heritage, but is now a multi-cultural club, with players and supporters from many different nationalities.

In 1992, Morley Windmills joined the Professional Soccer League, which later merged with the SFWA to become the Professional Soccer Federation (Soccer West Coast). The club withdrew from Soccer West Coast in 1997 and played in the Amateur Premier Division for three seasons before rejoining in 2001.

Today, Morley Windmills is a thriving club with a rich history and a bright future. The club is proud of its Dutch heritage and its commitment to promoting soccer and community spirit in Western Australia.
